Try these Trunk or Treat alternatives!

Because 2020 has been so “tricky,” traditional Trunk or Treat events may not be possible this fall.  But if you still want to “treat” your church and community members with a special yet safe celebration, check out these amazing ideas some churches are using!

Trunk or Treat alternatives:

Below are just a few of the great trunk or treat ideas for 2020 that provide a safe environment for children, families and church members.

• Candy CARavan or Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat. With this drive-thru form of trick-or-treating, you hand out goodies safely to people who stay in their cars as they slowly proceed through the parking lot.

• Highway Harvest Festival. While staying in their cars, people drive up and participate in a game that can be played safely from a distance for prizes or candy.
   
• Bible Character Night. For this fun drive-thru worship service, people dress up in Bible costumes. A couple of characters stand on an outdoor stage to tell their stories. Then at the end, they hand out candy or gifts as cars exit.
   
• Neighborhood Trick-or-Treat Parades. Conduct a drive-thru parade in your church’s community, throwing out candy to neighbors. Or drive to the houses of church families and toss candy to children or youth.

Here’s one way to edit the following Trunk or Treat Flyer from our library.

Download the following Trunk or Treat Flyer Template for Microsoft Publisher (or Microsoft Word) :

1. Take the image car_19020c from our library, and using the online Caption Editor tool, crop out the Bible and words from the image.
2. Import the image into the Publisher Template (or Word Template), remove the background from the image, add a shadow and place the pumpkin atop the car.
3. Remove the “Join Us” image and add “Drive-Thru” atop Trunk or Treat.
4. Edit the rest of the template, adding details such as time, date, and address.
    

Harvest Highway Flyer Idea

Here’s another way to edit one of the Trunk or Treat Flyer templates from our library.

Download the following Trunk or Treat Flyer Template for Microsoft Publisher (or Microsoft Word) :

1. Remove “Trunk or Treat” and changed to “Harvest Highway” in a more script font.
2. Add copy above “Harvest Highway”.
3. Edit the rest of the template, adding details such as time, date, and address.
4. Rotate the images at the bottom.
